Deaf Qualified BSL Tutor

  • Certificate of Education at University of Huddersfield
  • City & Guilds Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS) in Hillsborough College. Sheffield
  • NVQ Level 3 signature in Leeds

I am profoundly Deaf since birth and have been educated in deaf schools. I am a native and fluent BSL user, English is my second language acquisition.  I am also working for Bradford College as a part time teacher since 2012. I always wanted to become a BSL teacher because I like to help people to break the communication barrier between deaf and hearing.

I met Janice when I was a teenager. She recently encouraged me to become a relief tutor, with which she helped me accomplish in couple of years. I am enjoying being a relief tutor to cover Janice’s absence. I also work as a full time postal worker. The part time teaching doesn’t affect my hours and my social life as I feel being a professional is more important to me as well as awareness about equality and diversity in the classroom.

I am a creative, energetic and ideal person with a very good sense of humour and am pleased to be part of this team and am looking forward to meeting new students.
