Candidate
• A candidate cannot be assessed or internally verified by a family member, partner, husband or wife
• A candidate cannot assess or verify their own portfolio
• A candidate can be involved with the assessment team and assess or verify their fellow candidates’ portfolios. In the instance where the candidate and the assessor/IV are family members or friends, the Fylde Coast BSL Centre must provide Signature with a completed Conflict of Interest Declaration form (see Appendix 1).
Assessor
• The Assessor cannot assess the candidate’s portfolio if they are a member of their family, a partner, husband or wife
• The Assessor cannot assess their own portfolio
• The Assessor can countersign a Trainee Assessor who is member of their family, a partner, husband or wife. In this instance, the Fylde Coast BSL Centre must provide Signature with a completed Conflict of Interest Declaration form (see Appendix 1).
Trainee Assessor
• The Trainee Assessor cannot assess the candidate’s portfolio if they are a member of their family, a partner, husband or wife
• The Trainee Assessor cannot assess their own portfolio
• The Trainee Assessor can be countersigned by a qualified Assessor who is a member of their family, a partner, husband or wife. In this instance the Fylde Coast BSL Centre must provide Signature with a completed Conflict of Interest Declaration form (see Appendix 1).
Internal Verifier
• The Internal Verifier cannot verify the candidate’s portfolio if they are a member of their family, a partner, husband or wife
• The Internal Verifier cannot verify their own portfolio
• The Internal Verifier can countersign a Trainee Internal Verifier who is a member of their family, a partner, husband or wife. In this instance, the Fylde Coast BSL Centre must provide Signature with a completed Conflict of Interest Declaration form (see Appendix 1).
• The Internal Verifier can verify an Assessor or Trainee Assessor who is a member of their family, a partner, husband or wife. In this instance, the Fylde Coast BSL Centre must provide Signature with a completed Conflict of Interest Declaration form (see Appendix 1).
Trainee Internal Verifier
• The Trainee Internal Verifier cannot verify the candidate’s portfolio if they are a member of their family, a partner, husband or wife
• The Trainee Internal Verifier cannot verify their own portfolio
• The Trainee Internal Verifier can be countersigned by a qualified Internal Verifier who is a member of their family, a partner, husband or wife. In this instance, the Fylde Coast BSL Centre must provide Signature with a completed Conflict of Interest Declaration form (see Appendix 1).
• The Trainee Internal Verifier can verify an Assessor or Trainee Assessor who is a member of their family, a partner, husband or wife. In this instance, the Fylde Coast BSL Centre must provide Signature with a completed Conflict of Interest Declaration form (see Appendix 1).
If Signature or Fylde Coast BSL Centre becomes aware of a conflict of interest that has not been declared, action will be taken which may include withdrawal of a candidate(s) portfolio.
