I started having 1:1 Online lessons with Jan in middle of 2022. I graduated from Herriot-Watt in 2020 just after the pandemic hit. Due to personal caring responsibilities I couldn’t work for about 1.5 years. My confidence with my BSL skills was very low and I still had to sit my final exam to become fully registered. Jan helped build my confidence, was very knowledgeable and very encouraging. She helped me regain my skills in receptive and production. I recently passed my exam and I could not have done this without her help. I can’t praise her enough and recommend her highly to either new students who are starting to learn BSL or interpreters who want to improve their skills.
