We have had a very busy year here at the Fylde Coast BSL Centre and it seems set to continue. We have had the highest number of students join and progress through courses for a few years, especially with our partnership company BSL Interpretations. I have accepted 32 students on the interpreting part 1 course. These are split on to Halifax and Birmingham locations especially from Scotland and Northern Northern.
We will be delivering the BSL NVQ level 6 course in 3 locations this year. Bolton Deaf Centre, Calderdale College in Halifax, and Lancashire Deaf Services in Preston. We only have a few places remaining on these.
We also currently have 14 level 1 students who have all passed their 101 and 102 unit exams first time! I feel confident that they will all pass their final exam (103) on the 28th.
This has been a rewarding year and I would like to thank everyone for choosing our centre. I would also like to thank my PCA Ellie Hudson for her hard work and commitment and to my 2nd PCA Ruth Yates who took over the Foundation and level 1 courses. She has been fantastic at marketing these meaning they have been busier than ever.
We are set to have an even larger number of students in the coming year, I am looking forward to working with each and everyone of them.
