Centre News Update

 

In 2018 we…

Held 14 examinations in total across student on level 1, 2, and 3 courses.

Had 15 students pass their BSL NVQ level 6 course!

Welcomed 19 new BSL NVQ level 6 students.

Introduced many new students to BSL on our Foundation courses.

We also were excited to see students return to study with us as they progressed to higher levels.

Our partnership company BSL Interpretations have accepted 32 students on the interpreting part 1 course and many more students progressing onto Part 2.

Our director Janice Crossland-Jones became a trustee of Association British Sign Language Teacher & Assessors.
Janice took a trip to Scotland to deliver a training session on NVQ BSL Level 6; How to teach/deliver and how to build the portfolio’s. To the teachers at Deaf Perceptive Ltd.

Another big day for Janice was presenting the Deaf Business Academy 2018 awards and conference.

At Signatures 10th Anniversary Annual Awards Ceremony, Janice won the Professional Contributions award.

Well done also to Stephen Ellis-Menton from our partnership company BSL Interpretations for being nominated for the Excellent Teacher Award.

 

This has been a rewarding year and we would like to thank everyone for choosing our Centre.

Thank you to the Centre’s PCA Ellie Hudson for her hard work and commitment, and to PCA Ruth Yates who took over the Foundation and level 1 courses. She has been fantastic at marketing these meaning they have been busier than ever. Special thanks also to Rebecca Walton and Becky Hughes for their hard work with our Foundation and level 1 classes.

Finally we would like to thank everyone at Signature for their support throughout the year.

 

We are set to have an even larger number of students in the coming year, We are excited about working with each and every one of them.
